In my book, Self Esteem and Your Unique Style of Fit, I introduced the topic of reprograming your mind to build low self-esteem. Today I want to go a bit further with that discussion and include caring for your physical appearance as a method of reprogramming not only your mind, but your body as you are building low self-esteem. In the book I say, “To create a change in your self-image is through repetition of words, focus, and discipline. These mind activating ingredients apply to weight loss, a healthy lifestyle, love and financial success.” (Pullman A. , Self Esteem and Your Unique Style of Fit, 2019) There is another element, beyond that of mind activating ingredients, of self-esteem we need to discuss. That element is body image. Let’s face it, if your physical body is uncared for, unclean, or even showing the effects of time, it’s going to affect how your mind reacts to various situations. There are two questions you can ask yourself before beginning a self-care regimen:
Taking care of yourself is simply realizing that you’re also important. It means not to unnecessarily and constantly ignore your needs and the things that make you feel good. It can be best described as helping others by helping yourself first. It means prioritizing your happiness and fulfillment without infringing on others. (Hill, 2020) There are some misconceptions about self-care that should be addressed before embarking on a mission to help yourself first. Some may think that taking care of yourself before taking care of others is selfish. But think about the last time you flew on an airplane. The flight attendant, while giving instructions about what to do in case of an emergency, said to put the oxygen mask on yourself before helping children or others with their masks. Why do you suppose he or she said that? The meaning behind the instruction is very clear – you can’t help a child or other person put their mask on if you have lost consciousness because you don’t have your mask on. In our discussion today, that simply translates to you can’t help others if you are unable to help yourself. Another misconception is about your worth being based on others’ opinions. What this means is we spend too much time worrying about what others are thinking about us. We need to realize that people value us not for what we can do for them, but for who we are as a person. So, sit down and think about what things you need to do for yourself in order to improve your own self-image. Start with your appearance. What is in need of refreshing or healing? Once you have decided what you want to work on, it’s time to look for something that will help you in your quest for a healthier body image. At Captive Beauty, we have a line of skin care products that will help you through the refreshing and healing process. You can start with a simple eye cream. Our Cucumber Eye Cream is a cool and comforting 3-in-1 product that addresses dark circles, fine lines, and puffiness around the delicate eye area. It hydrates and improves the appearance of fine lines. References

What is a thought? It’s a Mind Activator through words, energy, and a vibrational connection with the universe to achieve whatever you want in life. Words that come into your brain are activated by your neuronal system to bring messages to and from your brain for processing an action or idea. The Therapy of Thought is when these ideas enter the brain’s activated message center and have either a positive or negative impact on your thinking pattern. (Pullman A. , I Want My Body Back, 2019) According to the American Psychological Association, there is a link between our skin and psychology, which then leads to the idea that caring for our skin will give us a sense of confidence as our skin improves. That confidence will then affect our thoughts, thus activating positive impacts on our thinking patterns. It’s a complete circle, leading back to taking back control of our bodies and our lives. To that end, I have developed a line of skin care products, inspired by the motto: Confidence Means You're Not Afraid to Take Action. At Captive Beauty we strive to make our products safe, natural, and of the highest quality for positive changes in your life. We hope you love these products as we do and strive for a more confident person in your spirituality, health, love, relationships, and finances. Citrus Stem Cell Cream This state-of-the-art formula harnesses the power of stem cells produced from plants to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin. Skin care can affect your self-confidence because people feel better about themselves when they look better. To help you improve your skin, you can use a few helpful products, like the ones offered by Captive Beauty. When people look good, they typically feel better and more confident about themselves. So, a mind-body connection certainly exists when it comes to one’s appearance and self-confidence. (K, 2020) By creating a consistent skin care regime with the right products, you can improve your complexion as well as:
